Drita–Gjilani Ends Goalless, Prishtina Marches On — Diatta Shines in the Capital’s Victory

The sixth round of the Kosovo Superliga brought interesting results, with the Drita–Gjilani derby finishing without a winner, while Prishtina continued their extraordinary run of victories.

Drita and Gjilani shared the points in the derby played on Sunday evening as part of the sixth round of the Kosovo Superliga.

The Anamorava derby ended 0:0, in a match where both teams had chances to score, but lacked the finishing touch in front of goal.

The best chance in the first half fell to Gjilani through Robert Rrahmani, but his shot was stopped by Drita goalkeeper Faton Maloku.

For Drita, this was the second draw of the season. Kosovo’s champions have two wins and one defeat as well, and with one game fewer played have collected 8 points, sitting sixth in the table.

Gjilani, meanwhile, have 11 points after three wins, two draws and one defeat.

Prishtina unstoppable, five wins in a row

On the other hand, Prishtina continue to be unstoppable in the championship.

The capital side recorded their fifth consecutive win after defeating Feronikeli 74 convincingly 3:0 at the “18 Qershori” stadium in Klinë.

Prishtina took the lead in the 33rd minute with a spectacular goal from Assane Diatta. The striker scored with a bicycle kick after an assist from Arijanit Fazlija.

In the 61st minute, it was Fazlija’s turn to score. He netted with a header after a cross from Albin Krasniqi, making it 2:0.

Prishtina’s victory was sealed once again by Diatta in the 92nd minute, scoring his second personal goal of the encounter for the final 3:0.

With this win, Prishtina top the table with 15 points, and also have one game fewer played.

Feronikeli 74 remain in second-to-last place with only 3 points.

Prishtina thus continue to lead the Superliga race, while Drita and Gjilani remain in pursuit, in a championship that is bringing great rivalry from the very first weeks.
