After the PDK presidency meeting, Hamza: We expect the Appeals Chamber to rule fairly on the KLA quartet, based on facts and evidence

The leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, Bedri Hamza, has declared that the Appeals Chamber of the Specialist Court should handle the case of the four former KLA leaders professionally. After the party presidency meeting, Hamza said they expect the Appeals Chamber to rule fairly, according to facts, evidence and justice, with judges of integrity and professionalism.

Hamza stressed that they expect there to be no need for a retrial at all, treating the case on the basis of facts and evidence. The first-instance Specialist Chamber had sentenced Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi to 81 years in prison on September 16, a ruling PDK has called unjust.

Asked about the possibility of withdrawing the complaint to the Constitutional Court over the constitution of the Assembly without a PDK deputy speaker, Hamza replied that these were hypothetical situations and that it is not withdrawn without need and reason.
