Appeals court confirms: 2 years and 6 months in prison for Gordana Filipović over pedestrian’s death at “Goce Delčev” Bridge

The Skopje Appeals Court has confirmed the first-instance verdict sentencing Gordana Filipović from Kumanovo to two years and six months in prison for the tragic accident at the “Goce Delčev” Bridge in Skopje, in which 76-year-old pedestrian Slobodan Angelovski lost his life.

According to reports in the Macedonian media, the Appeals Court fully upheld the sentence handed down by the first-instance court, bringing an end to the judicial process for this case that shocked public opinion.

The accident happened at the “Goce Delčev” Bridge in Skopje, where the vehicle driven by Filipović hit pedestrian Angelovski, who died as a result of the injuries sustained.

With the Appeals Court’s decision, the two-year-and-six-month prison sentence for the defendant becomes final. Filipović had been convicted of causing the accident resulting in death.
