Brigitte Bardot items go up for auction in Paris

Furniture, clothing, photographs and personal items belonging to French cinema icon Brigitte Bardot go under the hammer in Paris on September 25, in an auction expected to fetch between 1 and 1.5 million euros.

More than 500 lots from the collection of the actress — who became a global sex symbol in the 1960s before dedicating herself to animal rights activism — will be offered for sale.

Among the highlights are a white dress she wore in the 1962 film “Vie privée” (estimated at 3,000–5,000 euros), a pair of her ballet flats, and numerous photographs, including portraits taken by renowned photographers of the era.

Furniture from her Saint-Tropez villa “La Madrague”, where she has lived for decades, is also included, along with personal letters and film memorabilia.

Bardot, now 91, retired from cinema in 1973 at the age of 39 and has since devoted her life to animal welfare through the Brigitte Bardot Foundation.

The auction is organized by the Paris auction house and will be open to international bidders online.
