David Fuster returns to Olympiacos: former Spanish star set for a club role in Piraeus

David Fuster, one of the most beloved names in Olympiacos history, is set to return to the Piraeus club. The Spanish midfielder, who served the club from 2010 to 2016, is already in Greece, where he is holding final talks with the Olympiacos FC management about taking up a position at the club, as newsit.gr reports.

The news comes at a time when Olympiacos, according to newsit.gr, is undergoing a complete rebuild of the squad. In the “new era” of the red-and-whites there will also be room for one of the most cherished figures of the past: the 44-year-old Spaniard hung up his boots long ago, but is now preparing to return to the red-and-whites in a different role, off the pitch.

Fuster won the hearts of the Piraeus fans with his self-sacrifice on the field, becoming one of the team’s most trusted “soldiers.” During his six seasons in the red-and-white shirt he played more than 150 matches and won nine trophies, including six consecutive Greek Super League titles.

The exact position the Spaniard will take has not yet been revealed, but he is expected to be part of the club’s new project. The official announcement is expected in the coming days, once the talks are successfully concluded.

For Olympiacos fans, this return links the glorious past with the future: one of the heroes of the six consecutive titles is coming home, this time in a new role off the pitch.
