€20 from parents for student safety: debate at the ‘8 Marsi’ school in Peja

Parents of students at the “8 Marsi” school in the municipality of Peja have been asked to pay €20 per year for their children’s insurance at school, according to complaints from parents aired this morning.

Klan Kosova correspondent Valdrin Daci reported on the “Ora Shtatë” morning show that parents complained about this request. According to them, it does not come officially from the school, but is being organized through the Parents’ Council.

The school’s principal, Leonora Shoshi, has stated that this is not a school request.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the School Council clarified that the €20 amount is linked to the fact that the company that submitted a bid to the school for physical security raised its price, due to the increase in the minimum wage of the worker providing physical security.
