Families of Thaçi, Veseli and Krasniqi respond to Haxhiu: We expect to meet after the Assembly’s decision

Altin Krasniqi, the son of former parliament speaker Jakup Krasniqi, spoke on behalf of the families of Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli and Jakup Krasniqi — the three former KLA leaders convicted by the Hague court — calling for institutional responsibility and civic unity.

In a Facebook post, he expressed the families’ deep gratitude to the people of Kosovo for their continued support and solidarity with the judicial process in The Hague.

“We expect responsible state conduct from the people’s elected representatives, in defense of the Constitution and the law, in relation to the Specialist Chambers,” Krasniqi wrote.

Regarding acting president Albulena Haxhiu’s invitation to meet the families, he said they appreciated it but — to avoid any possible misunderstanding about family influence and interference in Kosovo’s institutions’ decision-making — they would wait to meet AFTER the Assembly’s decision on the PDK’s draft law amending the law on the Specialist Court.
