Gunman with Two Pistols: The Moment of Artan Myrtaj’s Execution in Saranda

Klan News has obtained exclusive photos of the perpetrators of the murder of 44-year-old Artan Myrtaj, killed a few days ago in Saranda.

The man you see in this image is the gunman, holding two weapons and dressed in a green jacket, black trousers and a helmet on his head. The photo was taken from security cameras. The gunman first fired the pistol with a silencer and, after it jammed, fired the other pistol he is holding in his right hand.

The other photo shows the driver of the motorcycle with Greek plates, who helped the gunman flee. After the execution, according to data obtained by the investigation team, the perpetrators headed toward Konispol, while the possibility that they fled illegally toward Greece is not ruled out.

Artan Myrtaj was killed on the morning of Sunday, September 20, in the area known as the former Agency, in the city of Saranda, where a 73-year-old was also injured. His execution is suspected to be linked to a series of events recorded in Saranda, originating from a wounding recorded in July 2025. Myrtaj appears to have been part of that conflict, which is why investigators have focused on this lead.

To find the perpetrators, police have questioned over 30 people, but have not yet tracked them down. Following the incident, the Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, set up a special investigation team to assess the criminal situation in the city of Saranda. By order of the police chief, the head of the Commissariat, Feliks Hodo, was replaced and transferred to Dibër. The Saranda Police Commissariat will henceforth be led by Saimir Shkambaj.
