“I would have liked to be in their place” — former KLA fighter Elheme Hetemi on the support being given to former KLA leaders
Former KLA fighter Elheme Hetemi spoke last night on the show “Shoqet” on Klan Kosova about her wartime experience and the great support being given to former KLA leaders in The Hague, as Klan Kosova reports.
Hetemi recalled the respect that women members of the KLA enjoyed during the war, both from the population and from fellow soldiers — a respect that, in her words, testifies to the shared sacrifice for freedom.
Speaking about the support being given to former KLA leaders in The Hague, she also recounted a conversation she had had with her sister before coming on the show. “I would have liked to be in their place when I see what the people are doing for them, for them and for themselves,” she said.
Hetemi said the protesters are honoring not only the former KLA leaders, but also themselves and the Albanian nation, stressing that this wave of support reflects the values for which the war was fought.
“It’s like a family that leaves heirs who honor and respect it. These people are honoring the leaders of their own state, they are honoring the nation and they are honoring all Albanians everywhere in the world,” she said on the show.
