Joint Serbian-Chinese patrols in Belgrade and Novi Sad until October 13

Serbia’s Interior Ministry announced that from today until October 13, joint patrols of Serbian and Chinese police will take place in Belgrade and Novi Sad, Danas reports, citing the Beta agency.

The joint patrols are part of bilateral police cooperation between the two countries, initiatives of which were also carried out in 2019 and 2023. According to the announcement, officers of both countries will patrol together in the main areas of the two largest Serbian cities.

Serbian authorities stress that this type of cooperation aims to strengthen public security and the exchange of experience between the police of the two states. Chinese officers will be seen side by side with their Serbian colleagues in the squares and tourist areas of Belgrade and Novi Sad.

Such joint patrol projects are usually implemented in periods with an increased presence of tourists and aim to strengthen operational cooperation between the police of the two states, as well as to increase citizens’ and visitors’ trust in law enforcement.
