JR and street art stars go under the hammer at charity auction in Paris today

Paris hosts today one of the year’s most important charity events for urban art: the 16th edition of “Solidarit’art”, the charity exhibition and auction organized by the HUMY association, which supports biodiversity protection and local community projects around the world. More than 150 original works will go under the hammer, according to Invaluable, which is hosting the live auction online.

The artist lineup includes some of the biggest names in contemporary street art: JR, David Walker, Berthet One, L’Atlas, Nasty, Tito Mulk, Fat, Chanoir, SEIZE Happywallmaker, Joachim Romain and Logan Hicks — a true panorama of the urban scene, from world-famous muralists to the new voices of street art.

The public had the chance to see the works up close at the free exhibition opened on September 26 and 27 at Galerie EST, 76 rue Saint-Maur, in Paris’s 11th arrondissement. The live auction takes place today, Sunday, at 6:00 p.m. Paris time (4:00 p.m. UTC).

The auction catalog is divided into two sections: Fine Art with 188 lots and Collectibles with 2 lots. One important detail for buyers: under French law, purchases at this charity auction qualify for a 39.6% tax deduction, making participation not only an investment in art but also a concrete contribution to biodiversity protection and the local communities supported by HUMY.
