Konjufca from New York on the 3rd Anniversary of the Banjska Attack: Criminals Remain Free in Serbia

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Glauk Konjufca referenced the terrorist attack in Banjska from New York, three years of which will be marked tomorrow, on September 24. In that attack, Kosovo Police Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.

Konjufca recalled that the criminals who carried out the attack continue to be free in Serbia, stressing that Banjska clearly shows why accountability is essential for regional security and stability.

He also referenced the 2024 attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal, which plays a key role in water supply and in the functioning of Kosovo’s energy system. Konjufca stressed that the resilience and protection of critical systems from sabotage, cyberattacks and hybrid threats must be an inseparable part of regional security.

According to the ministry’s statement, Konjufca stressed that Kosovo faced both of these attacks and emerged victorious, adding that the country is ready to make a concrete contribution to the joint regional response to such attacks.
