“Mora fjalë” removed from the internet as author Naim Gjoshi insists on copyright

Kosovo’s most popular song, and perhaps of all Albanian lands, “Mora fjalë”, has been removed from all internet platforms following a copyright dispute. This concerns its original version, sung by Shkurte Fejza but written and composed by Naim Gjoshi.

It was Gjoshi himself who requested the song’s removal from every official channel, a fact he confirmed through the “NewWay Consulting” law office to KosovaPress. “In my capacity as the exclusive representative of the author Mr. Naim Gjoshi, any of his works published or distributed without permission on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok or any other online platform will be treated as unauthorized use,” the law office said.

According to the legal representatives, anyone wishing to use the song must first secure the relevant permission from Gjoshi himself. The takedown request applies to every online platform where it was published without authorization.

KosovaPress also contacted singer Shkurte Fejza for a reaction, but received no reply. The newsroom is trying to contact singer Qazim Beka as well, who was the first to sing it, initially under the title “Çohu Adem”.

Meanwhile, the song’s fans have reacted on social media after its removal from platforms, expressing surprise at the decision and awaiting further clarifications from the parties involved in the dispute.
