Old Vic’s «A Christmas Carol» announces full cast for 10th anniversary edition: Giles Terera as Ebenezer Scrooge

London’s Old Vic has announced the full cast for the 10th anniversary edition of «A Christmas Carol», the record-breaking festive production. Directed by artistic director Matthew Warchus and in Jack Thorne’s stage adaptation («His Dark Materials», «Harry Potter and the Cursed Child»), the show will run from November 10, 2026 to January 9, 2027, with press performance on November 24.

Leading the cast is Giles Terera («Hamilton», «Othello», «One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest») as Ebenezer Scrooge. He is joined by Carly Bawden as Belle, Ewan Black as Fred, Khalid Daley as Young Ebenezer, Geraint Downing as Ferdy/George, Edward Harrison as Father/Marley, Kirsty MacLaren as Little Fan, Aiesha Naomi as the Ghost of Christmas Present/Mrs Fezziwig, Jack North as Bob Cratchit, Claire O’Leary as Jess, Alastair Parker as Fezziwig, Nuwan Hugh Perera as Nicholas/Schoolmaster, Gleanne Purcell-Brown as Mrs Cratchit, Hollie Jane Stephens and Sam Stones as swings, and Annie Wensak as the Ghost of Christmas Past. The role of Tiny Tim will be shared by four young actors: Imuujin Bayarsaikhan, Freddie Merritt, Veronica Aeryn Onu and Hannah Slater.

“Over the last ten years, ‘A Christmas Carol’ has continued to break box office records and delight audiences old and new,” said Warchus. “I’m so proud of the magic it has created and, especially, of the money it raises every year for homeless and food bank charities.”

Since opening, the Old Vic has organized annual charity collections for organizations fighting poverty and food insecurity; over the last nine years more than £2.3 million has been raised worldwide. This year’s beneficiary will be FoodCycle, which distributes free community meals from food that would otherwise be thrown away — fighting loneliness and food waste and supporting mental health and healthy eating.
