RIK proclaims the minority list “SDA Sandžaka – Čuvari Sandžaka” for the October 25 elections

Serbia’s Republican Electoral Commission (RIK) today proclaimed the electoral list “SDA Sandžaka – Čuvari Sandžaka” (SDA of Sandžak – Guardians of Sandžak) for the snap parliamentary elections of October 25. It is the eleventh list proclaimed so far by the commission.

RIK members unanimously decided the list would have the status of a national minority list. The list has 35 candidates for MPs and was backed by 5,910 valid voter signatures, submitted on September 20 at 14:10. The list is headed by Ahmedin Škrijelj of the SDA of Sandžak.

According to the published program, the list is committed to decentralization at all levels of government, equal regional development of underdeveloped areas, equality before the law, adoption of a lustration law, support for families, and conditions for young people to build their future in Sandžak.

For the first time, observers from the OSCE mission for democratic institutions and human rights (ODIHR) also took part in the RIK session.

The snap parliamentary elections in Serbia are held on October 25.
