Ristovski on official visit to Azerbaijan, signs sports cooperation memorandum

North Macedonia’s Minister of Sport, Borko Ristovski, is making an official visit to Azerbaijan from September 23 to 27, 2026. The five-day visit aims to deepen bilateral relations between the two countries, with a particular focus on sports and youth.

During his stay in Baku, Minister Ristovski will meet with Azerbaijan’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov. The talks are expected to cover exchanges of experience in sports organization, the development of sports infrastructure and cooperation between the sports federations of both states.

The centerpiece of the visit will be the signing of a sports cooperation memorandum between North Macedonia and Azerbaijan. The document is expected to lay the groundwork for joint projects, exchanges of athletes and coaches, and joint sporting activities in the future.

Both sides hope this cooperation will also strengthen the two countries’ presence on the international sporting stage, as well as the development of joint programs for young people.
