Russian drones hit pharmaceutical warehouses in Hostomel: four wounded, including a child
On the evening of October 2, 2026, Russia launched a drone attack on the town of Hostomel, in the Kyiv region. According to the Ukraine Update roundup, the strike hit the warehouses of the Venta company, one of Ukraine’s largest pharmaceutical distributors, and medicines from manufacturers Bayer, Sanofi, Pfizer, Teva, Darnytsia and Farmak are reported to be burning.
Four people were wounded as a result of the attack, including a child, as The Kyiv Independent reports in its October 3 news feed, citing Ukrainian officials. Ukrainian sources confirm that the attack drones hit production facilities and the pharmaceutical distributor’s warehouse in Hostomel; there are no reports of fatalities.
The attack comes as part of Russia’s continuing campaign against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure and logistics. Kyiv and its region have been hit almost every night in recent weeks, according to the daily roundup by Glavkom, which lists the event among the main developments of October 2.
Hostomel, a town northwest of the Ukrainian capital, lies in one of the areas of the Kyiv region hit hardest since the start of the war, and the attack on the evening of October 2 is among the rare strikes that have directly hit a pharmaceutical distributor of national scale.
