Shasivari: SDSM expected at next Electoral Code meeting — Levica: the opposition is fleeing the talks

Justice Minister Jeton Shasivari has expressed the expectation that SDSM will take part in the next meeting of representatives of political parties on the new Electoral Code, as Nezavisen reports. According to Shasivari, SDSM boycotted today’s meeting, making its outcome irrelevant, since this law requires political consensus to be adopted.

Levica’s reaction was not lacking: according to reporting by the Makfax agency, MP Krmov accused SDSM of fleeing the talks on the Electoral Code, while Levica expressed support for a single electoral district and for equal treatment of the election campaign.

At the working group table at the Ministry of Justice, among other things, diaspora voting — electronically or by mail — is being discussed, as well as public financing of political parties, in harmonization with OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
