Siljanovska-Davkova receives representatives of the “United Macedonians of Canada” organization

North Macedonia’s President, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, received yesterday (September 22, 2026) representatives of the “United Macedonians of Canada” organization — the organization’s president, Risto Durlovski, and member Dushko Jankov.

During the meeting they discussed the life of the Macedonian community in Canada, as well as its successes, problems and proposals, with the aim of strengthening ties between the diaspora and state institutions.

The “United Macedonians” organization (in Macedonian “Обединети Македонци”), founded in 1959 in Toronto, is the oldest Macedonian national-cultural organization in the diaspora. The Macedonian community in Canada is estimated at up to around 200,000 people.

The president has on several occasions stressed the importance of the diaspora as a bridge of cooperation and a key factor in promoting North Macedonia’s image in the world.
