Two executives of “A3 Architects” arrested for tax fraud of 28.7 million dinars linked to EXPO 2027

The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Novi Sad announced today that two persons, M.N. and A.M., executives of the firm “A3 Architects Studio” from Inđija, have been arrested on suspicion of tax fraud, fiscal evasion and money laundering.

According to the prosecution, in the period December 2024 – August 2025, they paid a total of 28.7 million dinars to alleged “suppliers” for preparing contents and pavilion projects for the specialized exhibition “Expo 2027”. The works were never carried out, while the money was paid on the basis of fictitious invoices.

The “Expo 2027” company confirmed it had two contracts with “A3 Architects”: the first signed on March 19, 2025 and fully fulfilled, the second signed on May 6, 2026 and terminated on August 3, 2026 for failure to meet contractual obligations.

The company stated it could not have knowledge of the executives’ actions outside contractual obligations, welcomed the action of state bodies to protect legality, and placed itself fully at the disposal of the competent bodies to clarify the case.
