Ukrainian drones strike Russian railways in Bryansk: railway bridge partially destroyed, about 30 wagons derailed
On Monday (September 28, 2026), Ukrainian drones struck railway infrastructure in Russia’s Bryansk region. The region’s acting governor confirmed three separate strikes that damaged a railway bridge and derailed nearly 30 wagons: part of the bridge on the Dyatkovo–Lyudinovo section partially collapsed and 10 wagons derailed, while in the Unecha district 18 empty wagons derailed.
Separately, operators of Ukraine’s 413th “Raid” Battalion struck a Russian locomotive pulling a fuel train near the Zhudilovo settlement in Bryansk. Video published by the unit, as Defense Express reports, shows the drone chasing the moving locomotive and the flames that erupted after the direct hit — the locomotive was disabled.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the X platform that Ukraine struck railway infrastructure in Bryansk: “We are constantly using our long-range capabilities to respond to Russian attacks.”
The latest strikes demonstrate the expansion of the Ukrainian campaign deep into Russian territory, focused on logistics infrastructure supporting Russian military operations, with the aim of cutting front-line supplies.
