Unlucky national team: another injury in the red-and-blacks’ ranks — Pajaziti also out, Qefalia called up
Another problem has been added to the Albanian national team on the first day of the camp ahead of the Nations League matches.
Adrion Pajaziti has picked up an injury, the extent of which has yet to be determined. According to confidential sources for Top Channel, the midfielder will undergo a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination, which will give the final answer on the seriousness of the injury and his availability to coach Rolando Maran.
And it is precisely Pajaziti’s injury that reveals the reason for Klevi Qefalia’s call-up.
The Dinamo midfielder, who had been on Maran’s standby list, was called up urgently today and has joined the national team’s camp.
So, after Qazim Laçi’s injury — officially replaced by Feta Fetai — Maran has faced another unexpected situation in midfield. It is in this context that Qefalia’s addition was made; he was initially not part of the official 29-player squad.
According to information obtained by Top Channel journalist Endi Tufa, everything now hinges on Pajaziti’s MRI results. If the examinations confirm an injury that prevents the midfielder from being available, then Qefalia is expected to be formalized as part of the squad for this Nations League cycle.
As of now, the only change officially confirmed by the Albanian Football Federation is Laçi’s replacement by Fetai. Meanwhile, Qefalia’s presence at the camp and Pajaziti’s situation are expected to get a final answer after the medical examinations.
The Albanian national team is preparing for four Nations League matches, and Maran now faces another dilemma in the midfield department.
