Vučić meets Zelensky in Hutë, Ukraine: “Central and Eastern Europe is becoming increasingly important for Serbia”

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the mountain village of Hutë, Ukraine, on the sidelines of the Carpathian Initiative summit. The bilateral meeting took place as part of regional efforts for stability and cooperation in Central and Eastern Europe.

Vučić emphasized cooperation with Ukraine, Romania and Poland, describing them as large and influential states in Europe. According to him, Central and Eastern Europe is becoming increasingly important for Serbia, while Belgrade is strengthening ties with countries in the region.

He noted that it was interesting that almost all participating countries at the summit raised objections regarding Ukraine, adding that Hungary had no representative. He gave no further details: “Serious and responsible people do not bring such things to the public,” the Serbian president said.

Vučić also held a warm meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, with whom he discussed peace, stability and Serbia’s place in the European family. He announced that Serbian companies and the Serbian Development Agency had been sent to the summit to present the country’s economic opportunities.

The Carpathian Initiative summit aims to strengthen regional cooperation and stability in Central and Eastern Europe, with the participation of leaders from the region’s countries.
