AAK Backs Every Legal Initiative for the Former KLA Leaders in The Hague
The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), led by Ardian Gjini, has expressed support for every legal and democratic initiative aimed at delivering justice in the judicial process against the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) in The Hague.
The announcement comes just hours after the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) proposed changes to the law on Specialist Chambers, bringing the Hague process back to the center of the political debate in Pristina.
“The Alliance supports every legal and democratic initiative aimed at delivering justice in the judicial process against the KLA leaders in The Hague,” the AAK statement said.
The party also expressed its belief that at the end of this process, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi will be acquitted: “We stand firmly by our convictions and believe that at the end of this process, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi will emerge innocent. To achieve that, Kosovo and its institutions must do everything so that this process ends as it should, with full justice.”
According to AAK, this position is consistent with its institutional stance from the beginning of the judicial process. The party stresses that the Kosovo people’s war for freedom, led by the KLA, was just, pure and unavoidable.
