Applications for 0%-interest housing loans far exceed quotas; health ministry logs record number
Interest among public-administration employees in 0%-interest housing loans has far exceeded the quotas on offer. With the application deadline now closed, 2,164 applications were registered for 300 new home-purchase loans — roughly seven times the expected number of beneficiaries.
The Ministry of Health recorded the highest number of applications, with 782 filings against 70 available quotas. It is followed by the Ministry of the Interior, with 448 applications for 70 quotas, while the Ministry of Education registered 444 applications, also for 70 loans.
In total, demand for the scheme is about seven times higher than the number of loans available, sharply limiting the number of beneficiaries relative to applications.
The call covered 300 loans at 0% interest, financed for the purchase of a home. Financing is determined according to the reference price, while the home’s floor area is tied to family composition, per the family certificate.
To benefit from the scheme, applicants must be employed in public administration and meet the criteria set by social-housing legislation.
Key conditions include not owning a home or holding one below housing standards, limits on owned assets, and never having benefited from other social-housing programmes.
