“Audit in SHISH after Hyseni’s arrest” — Security Council discussions revealed: what the SPAK chief and the president said
Speaking at the National Security Council, the acting SHISH director, Elvis Lila, insisted that a top-secret audit conducted after the criminal measure against Vlora Hyseni found no documents compromising the country’s national security had left the institution. TCH reports that those present at the meeting quoted the SHISH chief and the president, who at this urgently convened meeting mentioned the obligation to collect and safeguard security information as well as the necessity of cooperating with institutions.
And while those present at this meeting, where each official’s remarks are kept secret, further affirmed that Chief Prosecutor Klodian Braho told the heads of institutions legally charged with being on the National Security Council that SPAK concluded it had to request a security measure in court against the director of the Albanian Intelligence Service after administering several secret pieces of evidence for the investigation, including some home searches.
After the investigation team secured the evidence it reached this decision-making, Braho is quoted as having explained on behalf of the two prosecutors.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Rama stressed, the same sources report, that responsibility is individual. Mechanisms must be found for interaction, the Prime Minister insisted, to preserve national security.
Meanwhile, the President, for his part, after leaving tasks for each institution, made it clear that independence must be preserved and there must be no interference in the work of the Special Prosecution. Special sources did not confirm that there were debates at this meeting.
