Brandon Ingram diagnosed with partial Achilles tear after surgery, to miss start of season
The Los Angeles Clippers will start the 2026-27 season without Brandon Ingram, after a heel procedure revealed a new injury requiring recovery time.
According to Bleacher Report, Clippers interim president of basketball operations Trent Redden said on Monday that during the surgery a partial tear of the Achilles tendon was found in Ingram’s leg.
The club confirmed the player will not be ready to start the championship. The medical staff will monitor the recovery process and management will review his condition at the start of the season to determine when he can return to the court.
The decision on the timing of the return will be based on upcoming check-ups and rehabilitation progress; Bleacher Report reports that the team will make the necessary assessments as soon as the championship begins.
