Carrie Coon in a Maison Margiela Gown with Padded Shoulders at the 2026 Emmys
Carrie Coon is a familiar face at Emmy ceremonies: a four-time nominee, with nominations stretching from 2017’s Fargo to her latest nod for her role as Laurie in The White Lotus. This year she is competing as Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her part in The Gilded Age and appeared on the red carpet in a Maison Margiela gown.
As Harper’s Bazaar reports, the black gown had long sleeves and a floor-length hem, and came from Glenn Martens’ collection for Maison Margiela for Fall 2026, presented in April in Shanghai. The classic silhouette was echoed with rounded padded shoulders and a cinched waist that gave the sense of a special detail. Instead of the collection’s mask, Coon and stylist Alicia Lombardini chose De Beers jewelry — a diamond pendant and chunky rings.
In the same category, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Chase Infiniti is competing for The Testaments, Keri Russell for The Diplomat, Rhea Seehorn for Pluribus and Zendaya for Euphoria. Coon was previously nominated for the same award in 2024 for the previous season of The Gilded Age; that year the award went to Anna Sawai for Shōgun. Filming of the fourth season of The Gilded Age wrapped last month and the series will begin airing on November 1; Coon will continue to play Bertha Russell, wife of railroad magnate George Russell (Morgan Spector), who tries to integrate into high society in late 19th-century New York.
The red carpet photos and dress descriptions noted how simple design elements were combined with unusual details; so does Harper’s Bazaar again appreciate it.
