Kyiv – Zelensky announces first combat use of Ukrainian FP-7 missile
Kyiv, 1 October /ATSH – AA/ – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Thursday the first combat use of the FP-7 tactical ballistic missile, as Anadolu reports.
He said Ukraine will move to the production phase.
“Ukrainian tactical ballistic missile. FP-7. First combat use. Thank you for the result. Now – production,” he said in a statement on Telegram, accompanied by a video.
He gave no details about the operation or the target.
FP-7 was developed by the Ukrainian defence company Fire Point. The company said earlier this month that the missile has completed two of three testing phases and could enter combat use within a few weeks.
Public reports have described FP-7 as a ground-launched ballistic missile, with a declared range of up to 200 kilometres and a maximum speed of around 1,500 metres per second.
