Chase Infiniti to star in horror film “Portrait of God”: Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele join forces for the first time
Two of the biggest names in modern horror, Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele, will join forces in cinema for the first time — as producers of the film “Portrait of God,” from emerging director Dylan Clark. As Deadline reports, Lionsgate has acquired the rights and given the film the green light for production, while the lead role will go to Chase Infiniti, a Golden Globe and Emmy nominee.
“Portrait of God” is an adaptation of the viral short film of the same name that Clark released on YouTube in August 2022 and that has gathered 10 million views. According to MovieWeb, the short follows a religious young woman who discovers a disturbing answer to the question “what does God look like?” — and Clark will co-write the feature screenplay with Joe Russo.
The project was initially set up at Universal in December 2025, but was put into turnaround; it is now Clark’s second major collaboration with Lionsgate, which has also hired him to direct a remake of “The Blair Witch Project.” Raimi produces through Ghost House Pictures, while Peele produces through Monkeypaw Productions.
For Chase Infiniti, this is the next step after her breakout as Willa in “One Battle After Another,” Paul Thomas Anderson’s Oscar-winning Best Picture, and her role in the Hulu series “The Testaments.” Lionsgate motion picture group chair Adam Fogelson called the team extraordinary: with Sam and Jordan, two of the genre’s most influential producers, with Chase Infiniti in the lead and Dylan directing, we believe we have all the ingredients for a film that is terrifying, provocative and frightfully good.
