Hoti after Kurti’s statements: How can an agreement be invoked when Bekim Sejdiu has withdrawn
LDK MP Avdullah Hoti has reacted to the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, after his statements on the need for new meetings between the parties regarding the election of the president.
Kurti has declared that there is no new name for president and that LVV continues to stand by the political agreement and the candidacy of Bekim Sejdiu.
Hoti questioned the invocation of the political agreement, also referring to Bekim Sejdiu’s withdrawal from the candidacy for president.
“How can someone invoke an agreement when the very person involved in that agreement has withdrawn from the candidacy?!”, Hoti wrote.
He stressed that an agreement between two party leaders cannot be binding on MPs.
“An understanding between two party leaders cannot be turned into an order for the MPs of the Assembly”, Hoti declared.
Hoti said that MPs are not subject to any obligation and that political agreements can be changed.
“We are ready to vote for a candidate from the Democratic League of Kosovo, because only in this way is the balance of powers ensured. We choose ‘new elections’ instead of political submission”, he wrote.
Finally, Hoti stressed that political agreements can be negotiated, but not the Constitution of Kosovo. — Telegrafi
