“Fraudster prosecutor, more harmful than Dick Marty” — Greiçevci lashes out at Williamson

Lirim Greiçevci, a member of former President Hashim Thaçi’s defence team, has reacted sharply to former U.S. prosecutor Clint Williamson, who led the investigation into the allegations in Dick Marty’s report on organ trafficking, as Vox Kosova reports.

In a post published on social media, Greiçevci calls Williamson a “fraudster prosecutor” and describes him as “more harmful than Dick Marty”, accusing him of lies about the investigation into the notorious report’s allegations.

Greiçevci claims that hundreds of millions of U.S. taxpayers’ dollars were squandered on Williamson’s investigations, adding that the “phantom” indictment which, according to him, was to be made public was never filed. The post also names David Schwendiman and Jack Smith, who together with Williamson are described as “fraudsters” who, according to Greiçevci, did not have the honesty and courage to face true justice.

The reaction comes after Williamson, in a recent interview with BIRN, said that Kosovo’s authorities had failed to lower public expectations that the former KLA leaders on trial in The Hague would be acquitted.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are facing charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity at the Specialist Court in The Hague, a process that has now entered the appeals stage, as Klan Kosova also reports.
