Incident Among Kavač Detainees in Spuž: Milošević, Stanišić and Kažić Clash — Božović Paid the Heaviest ‘Price’
An incident involving detainees suspected of being members of the Kavač clan occurred today during visiting hours at the Spuž Remand Prison, the Montenegrin newspaper Vijesti reports. Marijo Milošević clashed with Radoslav “Gile” Stanišić, after which Zoran Kažić also turned on Stanišić.
According to a source, the heaviest price was paid by Igor Božović of Kotor, who tried to separate his fellow Kavač members as they fought. Vijesti’s interlocutor claims that as he tried to separate them, Božović was struck several times by Marijo Milošević.
Unofficial sources from the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) confirm that their officer who was in the visiting room reacted swiftly and prevented the incident from turning into a full physical brawl. The Spuž prison administration has notified the Police Directorate of the incident.
At the time of the incident, the visiting room held several detainees described as members of the Kavač cell of the so-called Balkan Drug Cartel.
Marijo Milošević is one of the accused in the murder of Miodrag Kruščić, the attack on journalist Olivera Lakić and the smuggling of 554 kilograms of marijuana from Albania to Montenegro; last December he was sentenced in the first instance to 30 years in prison for the murder of Radomir Đuričković.
Radoslav Stanišić was arrested at the end of August on the order of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office, suspected of involvement in the attempted murder of Igor Krstović. Zoran Kažić, meanwhile, is on trial in a case in which the Special Prosecutor’s Office accuses him, together with Slobodan Kašćelan, Radoje Zvicer and others, of creating a criminal organization and of the murder of Nikola Stanišić in August 2020.
