Interpol: two arrested in Montenegro, one extradited
PODGORICA, September 27, 2026 – Montenegrin police have arrested two people on Interpol warrants — one detained in Tuzi on Albanian charges of fraud and counterfeiting, the other extradited from Tivat to Serbia, as RTCG reports.
The Tuzi arrest concerns a suspect wanted by Albania for fraud and the production of counterfeit means of payment, who will now face extradition proceedings.
In the second case, a person detained in Tivat on a Serbian warrant has already been extradited to Serbia, where they are wanted on criminal charges.
Montenegrin police say international cooperation through Interpol remains a priority, with dozens of wanted persons detained each year on foreign warrants.
The arrests are part of ongoing efforts to prevent Montenegro from being used as a haven by fugitives from neighboring countries.
