Jakup Krasniqi’s daughter reacts after the sentencing: “Today the greatest injustice of this century occurred”

Jakup Krasniqi’s daughter, Gresë Krasniqi, has reacted after the verdict of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, by which her father was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

In a reaction published on social media, Krasniqi called the decision unjust and expressed her belief in the innocence of her father and the co-defendants.

“Dear citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, today, in the city of justice, the greatest injustice of this century occurred,” she wrote.

She harshly criticised the court, claiming the decision is political and that it, according to her, damages the image of the Kosovo Liberation Army.

Krasniqi said that the four accused, Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi, “turned their weapons against the enemy” to protect families and the population during the war in Kosovo.

In her reaction, she also mentioned Serbia’s former foreign minister, Ivica Dačić, using his case as an argument to criticise the Special Court’s decision.

“I live and will die with my full conviction in the innocence and sincerity of my father, Hashim, Kadri and Rexha,” she wrote.

In the end, Krasniqi declared that the decision will not stop them in their efforts for justice.

“Pride remains. Truth remains. We will continue the fight for freedom and justice!”, she concluded her reaction. /Telegrafi/
