LAFC parts ways with head coach Marc Dos Santos
Los Angeles Football Club announced on Sunday evening that it has ended its collaboration with head coach Marc Dos Santos. In a statement, the club stressed it will soon announce plans for an interim coach and will begin the search for a new head coach. John Thorrington, LAFC’s president of soccer operations, thanked Dos Santos for his commitment and contribution to the club and wished him and his family all the best going forward.
As mlssoccer reports, Dos Santos had been appointed in December 2025, after serving as assistant to former head coach Steve Cherundolo.
The decision comes at a difficult moment for the team: LAFC sit sixth in the Western Conference with 41 points (11 wins, 9 losses, 8 draws) and have just one win in their last 10 matches (1 win, 4 losses, 5 draws). The team most recently lost 1–0 at FC Dallas and has six regular-season games left to aim for qualification to the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs and to fight for home-field advantage in the finals.
Lead strikers Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-min have contributed a combined 20 goals and 21 assists this season. The club said it will continue the process of finding a new head coach and will share information on the interim staff when available; according to mlssoccer, the news comes as LAFC face poor form at the decisive stage of the championship.
