Taylor Swift becomes the most honored artist in VMAs history; Dakota Johnson called her “visionary”
Taylor Swift marked a historic evening at the MTV Video Music Awards, becoming the most awarded artist in the ceremony’s history. She received a large number of nominations, including Artist of the Year and Video of the Year, and was honored with the new Artist Director Honor, presented by Dakota Johnson, who also appears in her newly released video, “Patient Zero.”
According to Harper’s Bazaar, Dakota Johnson introduced Swift with a touching tribute, describing her as a visionary creator with an unshakable desire for perfection, who always keeps that special magical spark at the center of her work.
Near the stage, Swift spoke about two decades of career: she mentioned she has made about 60 music videos over 20 years, of which she wrote and directed 18 herself. She said she loves writing and directing music videos, and that her efforts often turn into a rich experience thanks to the dedication of her fans.
During the evening, Swift debuted the new video for “Patient Zero,” with Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell on stage and cinematography by Academy Award winner Emmanuel Lubezki. The visuals showed another side of the world of the project “The Life of a Showgirl” and completed the extended Encore version of the album. According to Harper’s Bazaar, the evening consolidated her impact on the visual art of music videos.
