Miketić: Serbia’s election theft being prepared through voters registered in Kosovo

Gjorgje Miketić of the “Beogradi Mbetet” initiative has raised allegations of irregularities in Serbia’s voter registry, claiming that preparations for election manipulation are underway through the voter roll.

In a public statement, Miketić claimed that thousands of voters have been “resurrected” on voter lists in Kosovo, also naming minister Snežana Paunović, who is responsible for administering the voter registry.

“Snežana Paunović takes such good care of the residents of Peja that she simply ‘resurrected’ many people, more precisely voters. And not only in Peja, but across Kosovo,” Miketić wrote, publishing data that he says shows changes in the voter list.

He claimed there are six municipalities in Kosovo for which the relevant Serbian ministry publishes no data, naming Glogovac (Drenas), Dečani, Đakovica, Štimlje, Kačanik and Suva Reka.

According to figures presented by Miketić, the total exceeds 248,000 voters.

He added that these voters are not included in the total of about 6.5 million voters recorded in Serbia’s past elections.

Miketić also raised suspicions about a marked increase in personal-data changes in several municipalities.

“Many voters suddenly change or correct their first and last names on the voter list, and this number has risen eight to ten times,” he said.

He named Preševo as an example, claiming address changes and registrations of persons abroad have also increased.

According to Miketić, new polling centers are also being prepared in Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, which he links to his suspicions of possible manipulation.

Miketić’s claims of irregularities in the voter registry have not been independently confirmed in official sources.

Serbia’s snap parliamentary elections are scheduled for 25 October 2026. The decision to dissolve parliament and call the elections was signed on 9 September, while the Republican Election Commission has already begun electoral procedures and list certification.
