Montenegro: 151 detainees on hunger strike at the Investigation Prison; UIKS says their health is stable

One hundred and fifty-one detainees at Montenegro’s Investigation Prison are on hunger strike, the Directorate for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions (UIKS) announced today.

According to UIKS, all detainees who began the hunger strike have been provided with comprehensive and continuous medical care. Medical personnel are monitoring them around the clock, and their health condition is currently stable.

The Directorate stressed that it will continue to take all necessary measures to protect the detainees’ health and to maintain order and security at the institution.
