Montenegro’s fourteenth Pride held today in Podgorica

Montenegro’s fourteenth Pride, organised by the Queer Montenegro association, is being held today in the centre of Podgorica, the Montenegrin public broadcaster RTCG reports.

This year the march is held under the slogan “Živjećemo, života radi!” (“We will live, for the sake of life!”), with which the organisers want to emphasise the message of survival, dignity and the right to a free life.

The gathering starts at 15:00, and participants will assemble on Stanka Dragojevića Boulevard, near the building of the Montenegrin Government.

The police have announced that the gathering will be filmed from 14:00 to 20:00. Because of the march, the boulevards of Ivan Crnojević and Stanko Dragojević, Slobode (Freedom) and Bokeška streets, as well as Vučedolska, Karađorđeva, Njegoševa, 19. decembra and Beogradska streets and part of Vaka Đurovića street will be closed to traffic. According to the police, the streets will open from time to time depending on the assessment of the security chief.
