“Pop Art Car 2.0” on the Champs-Élysées: Optical Art Meets Pop Culture — Free Exhibition Opens in Paris With Vasarely, Julio Le Parc and the World Premiere of the Renault 8 Gordini Concept

“Pop Art Car 2.0” — the second edition of the Défilé Renault exhibition — has opened its doors in the heart of Paris, at Le Défilé Renault, 53 Avenue des Champs-Élysées (Paris 8th). The exhibition runs from September 24, 2026 to January 31, 2027, and admission is completely free.

After the first edition’s success, organizers Défilé Renault and the Fonds Renault pour l’Art et la Culture return with a meeting of optical art and pop culture. Four artists and four artistic approaches around geometry, color, repetition and movement: Sébastien Preschoux (optical and kinetic art), Popay (a key figure of the French underground scene), Victor Vasarely (optical art) and Julio Le Parc (explorations of movement).

The exhibition’s digital backbone consists of new works created by Preschoux and Popay with algorithms developed specially by the creative studio Bonjour Lab; the moving works are shown on the large screens of the Défilé Renault, turning the space into a living stage of moving images.

But the exhibition’s automotive star is the world premiere of the Renault 8 Gordini Concept show car — a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic Renault 8 Gordini. The 1964 model’s references are carefully preserved (the original emblem lines, the double white stripe), while the form is inspired by the spirit of the café racer.

In October, a new “art car” created in collaboration with an artist is also expected to arrive, while the accompanying program includes DJ sets and free guided tours (by reservation), according to Sortiraparis. An exhibition for the whole family — and for art and motoring enthusiasts alike.
