Pressure mounts on Howard Webb as Premier League referees’ chief faces difficult position

Several Premier League clubs have filed formal complaints, saying they are not satisfied with the work referees did in the week that just ended.

Pressure on Premier League referees’ chief Howard Webb has risen significantly after “Pro Ref” admitted a day earlier that VAR had gotten everything wrong by deeming regular the goal scored by Haaland in the Manchester derby.

Yesterday the body suspended for a week the VAR referees of that match. For this reason Matt Donohue and Blake Antrobus will not be in action next week in Premier League matches. A.V.
