Queen Letizia’s pink suit brings back memories of Princess Kate

Queen Letizia and Princess Catherine are two of the most stylish figures of the royal families, looking equally convincing in gala gowns and tailored suits. Princess Catherine has often shown a preference for bold-colored suits, and some of her most striking are by Alexander McQueen: a cerulean set, an asymmetric red combination and a soft pink suit.

In June 2022, Kate wore the McQueen pink suit with a white round-neck top, salmon suede shoes and diamond jewelry; a year later she brought it back, pairing it with a buttoned pink shirt, white shoes and a pearl-clasp belt.

As Harper’s Bazaar reports, the Spanish queen opted for a bubblegum-pink suit made up of a long embroidered jacket, cinched with a single tortoiseshell button, and matching high-waisted trousers. She paired the outfit with a light white blouse with a stylized neckline and warm-beige patent-leather slingback shoes; gold jewelry, including hoop earrings and a statement ring, completed the look. Letizia wore the outfit at the opening of the Professional Training Academic Year in Talavera de la Reina, Spain.

Letizia has a repertoire of bold suits, including a loose plaid gray set, a sleeveless baby-blue Boss look and a lapel-less black combination. Both Kate and Letizia show they can combine formal elegance with bolder fashion elements, offering different versions of colored suits in their public appearances.

According to Harper’s Bazaar, the return of pink tones in royal appearances shows that suits in this color range remain a preferred choice for public appearances and underlines the modern nature of today’s royal fashion.
