Resignation Day: Vučić Steps Down Tonight Around 8 PM — to Explain the Decision on RTS at 12:30

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced from New York that he will resign tonight from the presidency of Serbia — the moment of resignation is expected around 8:00 PM, as RTS reports.

At that moment, RTS reports, Vučić will address Serbian citizens and explain his decision to leave the state’s highest office.

Before that, RTS reports, the Serbian president will appear tonight as a guest on the show “Za stolom sa Apostolom”, which starts at 12:30 on RTS’s First Program.

Recall that Vučić had announced on September 15 that he would resign on September 27. His party, the SNS, has proposed him to lead its electoral list and to seek the post of prime minister after the snap parliamentary elections of October 25; Ana Brnabić is expected to serve as acting president of Serbia.
