Russian guided bomb strikes residential building in Kharkiv: 22 injured, including children
A Russian guided aerial bomb struck a residential building in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city in the northeast, injuring 22 people, including children, as Reuters reports. The attack happened early Monday and caused major damage to the multi-story building, with rescue teams mobilized immediately at the scene.
The news was announced by Mayor Ihor Terekhov in a Telegram post, where he confirmed the number of injured and emphasized that among them are children. According to him, residents of the building have been evacuated and search-and-rescue work continues under the rubble.
Meanwhile, the capital Kyiv was also targeted by Russian attacks overnight. According to city authorities, a Russian drone struck a gas station, an incident they also confirmed on Telegram, without giving further details on the consequences.
The attacks come as Russia has stepped up strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential facilities across Ukraine. Kharkiv, located near the border with Russia, remains one of the cities hardest hit by Russian airstrikes since the start of the war.
