Security cameras to be installed in all public parks by year’s end
From now on, the play, movements and conduct of citizens will be under monitoring.
From all sides, from this week, the park in the Kalabria neighborhood of the capital will be under the surveillance of the Kosovo Police.
Their installation was planned among the new locations foreseen in the second phase of monitoring in Prishtina.
More details about this project, which began implementation this year, were given by the Director for Security and Emergencies, Lulzim Fushtica.
“The first park is the park and sports field in the ‘Kalabria’ neighborhood, and it will continue with all the parks and sports fields that have been assessed as needing monitoring; cameras will also be placed in Gërmia Park, Arbëri Park and Tokbashçe Park — in all parks,” Lulzim Fushtica, Director for Security and Emergencies, told RTV Dukagjini.
Fushtica also revealed by when the installation of cameras in the parks is planned to be completed.
“We plan to finish the parks within this year, but then there will also be a phase next year, since this is a three-year contract; the second phase could finish even earlier, but the cameras will be installed, and the novelty is that mobile speed radars will also be placed,” he said.
Very often, as soon as they are renovated or installed, the swings, benches and other spaces in public parks are damaged, and with the installation of the cameras, punitive measures have been announced for people who damage public spaces.
