The Law Commission approved the Territorial Reform in principle, 6 more towns are added at the SP’s proposal, but the municipalities will remain 46
The Law Commission has approved the Territorial Reform as a whole, together with the changes proposed during the discussions.
The bill received 8 votes in favour, while the opposition was not present at the moment of the vote.
One of the last changes to the territorial map concerns the addition of 6 more towns, at the proposal of the Socialist MP Ermal Paci.
In this way, the number of towns envisaged in the new map rises from 71 to 77, while the number of municipalities will be 46, as A2 reports.
The new map also defines the territorial border between Tirana and Vora.
The Thumanë-Kashar motorway will serve as the dividing border between the two municipalities, while the segment of the motorway that continues to Rinas will be part of the Municipality of Tirana.
