Trial Panel: Krasniqi played a key role in implementing the policy against opponents

The Trial Panel found that Jakup Krasniqi made a substantial contribution to the implementation of the common criminal purpose and was a key member in formulating and implementing the policy against opponents.

According to the court, Krasniqi, in his role as a member of the Political Directorate and spokesman of the KLA, encouraged the commission of crimes against persons considered opponents through communiqués and political statements.

The court also found that Krasniqi, together with other persons, appointed loyal people to key positions and contributed to the creation of structures, including the military police, the intelligence and counterintelligence services and special units.

According to the Trial Panel, Krasniqi was aware of a significant number of crimes against opponents but took no steps to prevent, investigate or punish them. On the contrary, the court found that he engaged in efforts to deny that these crimes were committed.
