Two people escorted to police in Mitrovica, caught with truck loaded with timber

Kosovo Police have escorted two people in the Mitrovica region who are suspected of committing the criminal offense of forest theft.

As Klan Kosova reports, shortly after midnight on Monday police received information that in the village of Selac several people were cutting wood in the forest.

“A police unit came across two people with a truck of timber. Both suspects were escorted to the police station, where the Forestry Agency was notified; it confiscated the stolen timber and took it to the agency’s impound facilities,” the police statement said.

After interview procedures, the suspects were released in regular procedure on the prosecutor’s order, while a case was initiated against them for the criminal offense of “forest theft.”
