The National Cybersecurity Unit, KOS-CERT, has reacted after reported cases related to WhatsApp accounts in Kosovo, announcing that it is analyzing the cases and is in communication with the relevant institutions for their handling.
In a recently published announcement, KOS-CERT has asked users to take steps to protect their accounts.
“To recover your account, please submit your case through WhatsApp’s official form. When filling out the form, please specify your phone number, the problem and the date it occurred,” the KOS-CERT announcement states.
Meanwhile, in another announcement, KOS-CERT has recommended that users update WhatsApp to the latest version and enable Two-Step Verification.
According to the published instructions, users should set a six-digit PIN and add a recovery email address. KOS-CERT also advises that the PIN should not be shared with anyone.
Concerns about WhatsApp account security have been reported in recent days, while KOS-CERT has announced that it is handling the cases and trying to communicate with the relevant institutions to address the issue.
Users who have problems accessing their accounts have been advised to use WhatsApp’s official form for reporting and account recovery, as Telegrafi reports.
